Bio

Tamara L. McMillian joined the law school as Associate Director of Professional Development in October 2006. Prior to the law school, she held the position of associate for Jennings Taylor Wheeler & Haley, P.C. in Carmel, Indiana specializing in an insurance defense practice. Her other legal experience include practicing law as a deputy prosecuting attorney in Indianapolis, Indiana primarily within the Domestic Violence Unit. Tamara earned a Master of Social Work from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois where she actively participated in various legal community organizations.

Licensed to practice law as a member of the Indiana Bar, Tamara is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association and the Marion County Bar Association. Her responsibilities include counseling and assisting alumni and students with job search strategies and judicial clerkship opportunities, developing and implementing professional development programming and administering the on-campus interview program.
