Bio
Chasity Thompson became the director of the Office of Professional Development in April 2006 after serving as the associate director for almost two years. She graduated magna cum laude from Alabama State University with degrees in English and Business Administration. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Indiana University School of Law- Indianapolis, where she actively participated in and chaired numerous school, legal and community functions. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University.
Following law school, Chasity served for two years as a judicial clerk to Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard of the Indiana Supreme Court. Licensed to practice law as a member of the Indiana Bar, Chasity was named as one of the 2007 "Up and Coming" lawyers for the Leadership in Law series by the Indiana Lawyer and is the 2006 recipient of the Raab Emison Award for her commitment to diversity in the legal profession.
She serves on the executive committee of the Indiana State Bar Association Young Lawyer's Section and its Committee for Racial Diversity in the legal profession. She also serves on the Indiana CLEO Advisory Board; Indianapolis Bar Association's Law Student Executive Committee and is a member of the Marion County and National Bar Associations She is involved in the Indianapolis community as a member of the Julian Center Development Board, the Junior League of Indianapolis and an executive committee member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.. She is the inaugural co-chair of Indiana's first Diversity in Practice conference.
Chasity’s responsibilities include managing all activities of the Office of Professional Development, fostering and maintaining effective working relationships with legal employers, counseling and assisting alumni and students with job search strategies and judicial clerkship opportunities, developing and implementing professional development etiquette programming and administering the on-campus interview program.
