Interlibrary Loan
** Please read the following information
before submitting a request form **
Description
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) makes it possible for the Law Library
to borrow material or receive a copy of material not available at the
Law Library. ILL is available to Law Faculty and to currently enrolled
Law students. A validated ID may be requested.
Requests
Please complete a separate form for each request. Provide
complete book or article information and do not use abbreviations. *
Incomplete information may delay your request.
Availability
The following material is often not available through ILL,
depending upon the rules of the lending library:
- multi-volume sets
- recently published material
- entire issues of periodicals
- reference/reserve materials
- rare books/original manuscripts
- video tapes
- some dissertations and theses
Response to Requests
It usually takes 7-15 working days for an ILL request to be
filled. Delays do occur due to circumstances beyond our control, and
occasionally we are unable to fill a request. ILL books will be
delivered to your office or mailbox.
Due Dates
The length of the loan period will vary depending upon the
rules of the lending library. An average loan period is 4 weeks. The
due date is clearly indicated on the front cover slip on the ILL
material. Please return all ILL materials to the Circulation Desk by
the due date. If you must ask for a renewal, please request the renewal
at least 5 days before the due date. Only one renewal is permitted for
each item. Please keep in mind that it is the lending library's
decision to renew, and that not all renewal requests are honored.
ILL material is occasionally recalled before its due date by
the lending library. We will notify you by e-mail when a recall is made.
